A co-op project of Subversive Element and DJ Luke, working a strange middle ground between electric jazz and the DJ world. |

Add Subeversive Element, coming out of Miles Davis and Weather Report, with DJ Luke, raised on Aphex Twin and Future Sound of London, and the result is Biomechanique. The duo was started in 1998 with a year long residency at Gabor Csupo's Lumpy Gravy art gallery/restaurant/performance space. Other gigs have included appearances in Los Angeles at Spaceland and Luna Park as well as Ole Madrid in San Francisco. Since DJ Luke has relocated to San Antonio, Biomechanique has developed a new mode of operation in which Subversive Element creates bits, pieces and loops in Los Angeles and sends these to San Antonio for the DJ to assemble into complete tracks. Recent work has been some seriously dark, dense drum and bass, go to the downloads page to hear their latest. |
