Psychosomatic Records is a micro-label that is dedicated to the release of works by Novabeats Sound System. It is one of the many independent responses to the decline of the American music scene caused by the rise of the giant radio and record label cartels.
It is all about true artistic freedom; the freedom to use anything that sounds right without any adherence to dogma. This means using beats, or not using beats; grabbing from the future, or the past; keeping things simple, or making them complex; using the full tonal spectrum, whether consonance or dissonance.
We regret that we do not have the resources to add artists from outside the collective, but we are always glad to hear what people are doing.
